March Coffees

March 4, 2018 - Peru "San Martin"

Region: San Martin - Corosha
Featured Date: March 5, 2018
Tasting notes: Floral, White Peach, Honey
Altitude: 1900m
Processing method: Washed
Certifications: Fair Trade, Organic
Varietal: Caturra, Typica

The Story:

For our third feature from Peru, we worked closely with Red Fox Coffee Merchants (a longstanding import-partner of ours). Previously we focused on the popular Cajamarca growing region - and this round, we wanted to try something different. San Martin is super high-elevation "department" in the Andes (typically a great thing for coffee density/flavor). This is a friggin' delicious coffee with springtime tasting notes - we'll be slightly bummed when it's all gone.

March 18, 2018 - Colombia "Zamudio"

Region: Huila
Featured Date: March 19, 2018
Tasting notes: Berries, Chocolate, Almond
Altitude: 1650m
Processing method: Washed
Variety: Castillo

The Story: We're guilty of loving Huila and Narino coffees from Colombia. It's a staple of our rotating menu - this one from producer Fernando Augusto Zamudio is a nice treat to round out March. You'll find a mellow acidity and silky mouthfeel, with light berry notes and of course - chocolate vibes.
