The Story:
It's been a full 12 months since we last featured a coffee from Costa Rica - in fact, only other one we did (Don Eli) was honey-processed as well. So it's an excellent little experiment to revisit here with this braze 'lil batch from Hacienda Sonora. This farm sits at the base of Poás Volcano National Park - expect a complex, clean cup to help wind the last few weeks of summer down.
The Story:
We hosted a cupping session for our friends at Sweetgreen a few weeks back. On the table: an African, a funky-processed Honduran, and this a "test" batch (washed) from Guatemala. With each public cupping we host for our wholesale-office customers, we take a "vote" at the end for which one stood out. You'll never guess the clear winner.
This coffee is simply divine. Clean and complex - with notes of yellow peach ("durazno" en español) and honey, offering an ideal summer treat. This is a total crowd-pleaser that's best shared with friends and fam.
